Round 2 - fight (or make up)! You may remember my post a couple weeks ago titled Ticketmaster VS. Livenation. Well, ladies and gents, those two letters have since been replaced with a plus sign. It was announced earlier this week that the two companies would possibly merge.
While nothing is set in stone yet, there is indeed a deal is in the works with an official announcement to follow as early as next week. If the global ticketing giant does join forces with the huge concerts promoter, the new company would be inventively named Live Nation Ticketmaster. Really? I prefer Ticket Nation or Live Master myself.
While the merging would not cause quite a monopoly (although pretty close), it certainly would have a profound effect on the state of the industry, not to mention raise some serious antitrust issues. You know, what they say: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. What are your thoughts on this convergence of corporate power?
"Live Master", that's funny. A MERGER? What kind of shit-show are they running over there? Does this mean Ticket Nation will now charge $19.99 to email you your tickets?

This sucks so hard. The government needs to crack down on this monopolization. It should be forbidden-- a violation of anti-trust, this is! I'm pissed. The everyman is violated again.
